Post-payment based on views, or a yearly subscription at a fixed price

rtsp.me works on a post-payment basis. On the last day of the month we count the views for each camera, work out the cost of the subscription and issue the payment documents.

You can pay by bank card or against an invoice issued to your organization. For ongoing use of the service, a contract can be concluded.

Pricing by views

The prices below are for a monthly subscription for each camera. The band is determined by the actual number of views that camera received during the billing month.

Views per monthPrice per camera
Up to 100Free*
100–10,0005 Euro
10,000–100,00020 Euro
100,000–1,000,000100 Euro

* Up to 100 views a month a camera is not charged for. This free allowance does not apply to cameras streaming video via RTMP Push.

The calculation is carried out separately for each camera. If there are several cameras in an account, each of them is placed in the band that matches its own number of views.

How post-payment works

The camera runs through the month and accumulates views. There is no need to pick a band in advance or to buy a package of views.

  1. The camera runs through the billing month.
  2. On the last day of the month rtsp.me counts the actual views.
  3. The resulting band determines the cost of each camera.
  4. The payment documents are generated on the last day of the month.
  5. The documents are sent to your email and kept in the “Finance” section.
  6. You pay the amount charged by bank card or against an invoice.
A month of streaming → views counted → payment documents → payment

A balance with no automatic charges

rtsp.me does not take money from a bank card automatically. Card details are not used for recurring charges without a separate action by the customer.

If you prefer, you can top up your account balance in advance by any amount. After the monthly calculation, the cost of the service is taken from the funds available on the balance.

Top up by an amount you choose → rtsp.me balance → monthly charges
To request the return of unused funds, contact rtsp.me support. Give your account details and any information needed to identify the payment.

Yearly subscription

Instead of paying monthly according to the number of views, you can take out a yearly subscription for a camera. It costs 180 Euro for one camera for a year and is paid as a single payment.

180 Euro once → one camera → 12 months of streaming

A yearly subscription is tied to a specific camera. Views are not charged separately during the period paid for, so the final cost does not depend on how many times the HTML player is launched.

What counts as a view

A view is every launch of the rtsp.me HTML player that provides the live stream on a website or another viewing page.

A launch is counted in every case, even if there is no video signal from the camera at that moment. rtsp.me still uses server and network resources to connect to, check and process the stream.

For example, when a visitor opens the page and the embedded player starts, that launch is added to the monthly view count regardless of whether a picture appeared.

The only way to stop views being counted is to switch the camera off in your rtsp.me account. Removing the player from one page, an absent signal or an unreachable camera does not switch the stream off in the account and does not stop launches being counted wherever else it is embedded.

Payment deadlines

Payment documents are issued on the last day of the billing month. Once they have been issued, the following applies:

To avoid the warning and the block, pay the documents within 10 days of them being issued. If the payment has already been sent by bank transfer, allow for the time it takes to clear.

Ways to pay

To conclude a contract or check the bank details, contact rtsp.me support. Organizations should make sure their own details are correct before the billing month ends.

Payment documents

Payment documents are generated on the last day of the month, once the views have been counted. They are sent to the email address given in the account.

Every available document can also be downloaded in the “Finance” section of your account. That lets you obtain them again without waiting for a new email.

Additional options

When you pay monthly according to views, some features are enabled and charged separately.

Logo hiding removes the branding from the player, for a more neutral look to the stream on your website.

H.265 support is needed for cameras that deliver their source stream with the H.265 video codec. For a standard connection without this option, H.264 is recommended.

For cameras on a yearly subscription, logo hiding and H.265 support are already included at no extra cost. With monthly payment, these options are charged on top of the camera's basic cost.

Example calculation

If one camera received 8,000 views during a month, it falls into the 100–10,000 band, so its basic subscription costs 5 Euro.

If logo hiding and H.265 support are also enabled for that camera, the calculation looks like this:

5 Euro + 20 Euro + 20 Euro = 45 Euro for the month

A second camera is calculated separately according to its own views and the options enabled for it.

Frequently asked questions

Is payment required in advance?
No. By default rtsp.me works on a post-payment basis. If you prefer, you can top up your balance in advance or pay for a yearly subscription for a particular camera.
Is money charged to the card automatically?
No. There are no automatic charges to a bank card. The customer either pays the documents or tops up the balance by an amount of their choosing.
Can the balance be topped up in advance?
Yes. The balance can be topped up by any amount, and the monthly charges will be taken from the funds paid in.
Can the remaining balance be refunded?
Yes. You can contact support at any time and request a refund of unused funds.
What does the yearly subscription include?
For 180 Euro one camera runs for 12 months with no separate charge for views. Logo hiding and H.265 support are included at no extra cost.
Are views below the lowest band free of charge?
Yes. A monthly view count for one camera that falls below the first band in the table is not charged, except for cameras streaming video via RTMP Push. For those, the free range does not apply.
When are the documents generated?
On the last day of the month, once the views have been counted. The documents are sent to your email and are available to download in the “Finance” section.
Is a view counted if the camera sends no signal?
Yes. Every launch of the HTML player is counted even when there is no video signal, because rtsp.me still spends resources on serving the stream.
How can view counting be stopped?
Switch the camera off in your rtsp.me account. An absent signal, or removing the player from just one page, does not stop the count.
When does the arrears warning appear?
Ten days after the payment documents are issued, if payment has not been received.
When is the stream blocked?
If payment is not received within 20 days of the payment documents being issued.
How does an organization pay for the service?
Against the invoice issued. A contract can also be concluded with rtsp.me, and the documents downloaded in the “Finance” section.
How much does logo hiding cost?
20 Euro a month for each camera with the option enabled.
How much does H.265 support cost?
20 Euro a month for each camera using this paid feature.
